After driving along for the day along the Nullabour Highway, we started thinking of where we may like to camp tonight. We tried a few little tracks, but then came to this beautiful spot:-
Someone else must have found it too at some
time because they left something of value
behind;
And Greg found one too (but his find was split in half! so mine was really a great find *lol*)
Anyway, this is what our camp looked like after we set it up.
AND THEN:-
A little bit of relaxation was the order of the
day!
If you'll note: in the foreground of the above pic there is a slice of rock about to fall into the Great Australian Bight Marine Conservation Park, with all those wonderful Southern Right Whales, Sealions, Fur Seals and Great White Sharks.
Well, I was being given gentle finger-points from Greg (who was a long, long, long way away) to get me in the right position for this photo.............Hmmmmm!
We found Herman Munster! |
As evening approached, we cooked delicious Garlic Parsley Veal Snitzels and Greek Salad and the wind started blowing:
And Blowing,
and blowing harder and harder and harder!
(I must say, I now share something very personal with my friend Chick - sea sickness!) Yep that's right, but for the life of me I didn't quite understand how you can get sea sick in a caravan until I found out that Greg had not put the stabilizers down because we were only going to be here for one night OKAAAAAAY! *LOL*
Well thankfully there were no neighbours to see me crawling into the massive bushes! I climbed into our UTE with my DOONA and told Greg to go away - I was not a pretty sight! Man oh man, even the ute was shaking in this wind.
Around 2.00am-ish I decided that the wind had dropped enough and I made may sluggish way back into the caravan. Hah hah! lucky I'm only 5'1-1/2" or I would have lost the top of my head. Apparently the wind was so strong in the van that Greg put the stabilizers down, and the pop-top roof too!
I guess he can now brag that the sunshine does shine out of here (or at least this must be end of the rainbow!)
Next morning, this beautiful sky was in evidence (with no trace of the storm following the calm of the previous afternoon)
