After arriving on Cocos and sorting out our trips with Ossie and Geoff, I called up to Karen's house to see when was okay with her to have a photo session on the island. Having previously contacted Karen by email I was eager to meet her and arriving at the home, I found out that she was down at the shop at the end of the supermarket.
We still hadn't procured a scooter or car yet, so at 30*C I toddled back down the road to the supermarket, losing a kilo or so in fluid along the way, which had to be a good thing I think (should make me look better in swimmers me-thinks).
Making it to the Dive shop before she closed, I met Karen in the flesh. All I can say is what a lovely lady I found, and we sorted out that as Karen was going to work on slow shutter speeds for the next week, I could learn with her help and set Saturday evening as the first meet at the Yatch Club. Since it was about 7kms to the Yatch Club, Karen offered to pick me up on her way.
What a great time I had ----
Following the photography time on the first evening, several friends of Karen and Diet's came out for a BBQ and a TV crew were also there, as they were on Cocos filming for tourism advertising for the Islands to commence soon.

Karen has a wonderful sense of humor and was a true inspiration. Hopefully we will be able to catch up with each other when she comes back to Brisbane in December for holidays. Many thanks Karen for such a great time together and being able to meet your friends as well. These memories will remain forever :)
Next trip ........... Nek's fishing day and Kylie & Ash's Canoe Tour
